Well folks…I did it! I went ahead and launched this site just to get my little blog off the ground. There are still A LOT of things I need to change/update, I know. However, I also knew if I did not pull the trigger at some point I would, most likely, keep procrastinating on it. Similarly, this step will force me to be more purposeful about the blog since people can actually see/read it now. Sometimes, I get a little nervous about what people will think but I will just post the content I enjoy and see where it goes from there.
Look forward to my reviews of the books I have completed in 2021, so far. I have completed 3/15 books for my Goodreads goal ( I think I am ahead of schedule…LOL!) but I am hoping to finish another book (Shadow Frost (Shadow Frost, #1) by Coco Ma) this weekend. I also hope to participate in the Lunar New Year Readathon (#LNYReadathon) this weekend. It runs from Friday-Sunday ( 02/12-14/21) and is hosted by @lacybooklovers and @remarkablylisa. All of the information, including the prompts, will be in their Instagram stories.
The weather in Wyoming has been bitterly cold for most of this week and it is expected to continue into next week. Bring on the cozy reading three-day weekend!
I do like the way you have presented this specific difficulty plus it really does supply me personally some fodder for consideration. Nonetheless, through what I have personally seen, I just trust as other feedback pack on that people today continue to be on issue and not embark on a tirade of some other news du jour. Yet, thank you for this excellent piece and whilst I can not really agree with it in totality, I value the standpoint. Stevana Valentino Amanda
Stevana,
Thank you for your kind comment. I greatly appreciate all of the feedback I have received on my blog thus far. Personally, I will strive, to the best of my ability, to stay on topic (as you mentioned) and provide information/participate in book/reading discussions with commenters/others who choose to make contact in a positive manner.
I truly value differences of opinion because it allows me to see things from another’s perspective and use that knowledge to become a better blogger.
Besides, without those willing to provide feedback/engage in discussion, it would just be me communicating with my computer screen (LOL!). Although…at times it does have some appeal…when I am feeling more introverted. We won’t talk about that though because, beneath its initial purpose (to discuss books/reading and provide any pertinent information (i.e. readathons) regarding the same) the blog is meant to help me become more extroverted.
A remarkable share, I simply given this onto a colleague that was doing a little analysis on this. And he in fact got me morning meal because I discovered it for him. smile. So let me reword that: Thnx for the reward! Yet yeah Thnkx for investing the moment to discuss this, I really feel strongly regarding it as well as love finding out more on this subject. Preferably, as you come to be know-how, would certainly you mind upgrading your blog with more information? It is extremely helpful for me. Big thumb up for this article! Amye Zebadiah Seraphim
Amye,
Thank you for your kind comment. It makes me smile to hear that you and your colleague enjoyed my first blog post. I am a little curious, however, what sort of analysis (i.e. pushing out of/beyond a given comfort zone) led you to my blog in particular?
I will definitely be updating my blog/website as I gain more knowledge/experience with the process in general. I know I definitely need to update my participation list for current/upcoming readathons. Initially, creating that list was very helpful in teaching me how to link different information.
Please Note: All of the readathon information I mention/post is, first and foremost, attributed to their host(s)/creator(s) (to whom I will always give credit) but I like to share in case others want to join as well. Personally, I find it challenging/fun to try different readathons. I also enjoy supporting the book tubers I frequently watch on Youtube.
Having read this I believed it was really informative. I appreciate you taking the time and effort to put this information together. I once again find myself personally spending a lot of time both reading and posting comments. But so what, it was still worth it! Adela Welch Chris
Adela,
Thank you for your kind comment. It pleases me to hear the information I have provided is helpful to others. As, I mentioned in my reply to Ayme (erotik), I find it challenging/fun to try different readathons and enjoy passing along the information in case others would also like to participate. I greatly appreciate/enjoy watching the book tubers on Youtube who lend their talents to creating/hosting the various readathons as well.
I think it is awesome that you enjoy reading and posting comments. Personally, I know the comments will help make me a better blogger (as this is my first foray in the process). I also believe an enjoyment of reading gives people, although they may view/interpret any book differently, a common ground for discussion.
In my blog, I will strive to always be open to/respectful of all viewpoints (even if they differ from my own). My goal is to network with others who enjoy/love the hobby/pastime, not judge people, tell them what to think, or expect them to agree with me.
That is a great tip especially to those new to the blogosphere. Simple but very accurate information?Thank you for sharing this one. A must read post! Enriqueta Trent Tolmach
Hello. This article was really remarkable, especially because I was browsing for thoughts on this matter last Monday. Hedvig Ernie Ivers
Having read this I thought it was really enlightening. I appreciate you finding the time and energy to put this informative article together. I once again find myself spending a significant amount of time both reading and posting comments. But so what, it was still worthwhile! Esta Jean Porta
